If you get an alert, "This domain name has already been used as an alias or domain", the domain is already linked to your Google Workspace account or another Google Workspace account that you don't manage.
If you recently removed the domain from your Google Workspace account
- After you remove a domain, it can take up to 24 hours before you can add the domain back to your Google Workspace account. Or, if you purchased your account from a reseller, it can take up to 7 days.
- If it's been more than 24 hours since you deleted the domain, some of the steps to delete it might not be completed.
If the domain might be linked to a Google Workspace account you don't manage
- Check if someone in your organization signed up the domain for Google Workspace. If so, work with that person to access to the account.
- If no one in your organization remembers signing up the domain for Google Workspace, complete and submit this form to Google Workspace support. Support will give you instructions to verify that you own the domain, and then you can add the domain to your Google Workspace account.
