About GWMME

Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Exchange

Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Exchange (GWMME) is a product you can use to migrate your users' data to Google Workspace. You can migrate:

  • Email, calendar, or contact data from your Exchange server
  • Email data from a Google Workspace account or other RFC 3501-compliant IMAP servers (including Exchange, Novell GroupWise, and Gmail)

You run the migration for your users, and you can migrate data for multiple users at once. GWMME allows you to migrate mail, calendar events, and contacts together in one migration.

About smart features & personalization

Before you migrate data, you need to decide if smart features in Gmail and Google Chat and Meet as well as personalization features in other Google products can use data from Gmail, Chat, and Meet. For certain features to work, such as autosorting in Gmail, you must turn on smart features and personalization in the target account before you migrate data.
