Switch your Archived User edition

Supported editions for this feature: Business Starter, Business Standard, and Business Plus; Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus. Compare your edition

If you purchased your service from a reseller, go here instead |  Do I have a reseller?

If you're on the Annual Plan/Fixed-Term, you can downgrade editions only after you Switch from Annual to Flexible Plan.

When you switch your Google Workspace edition, you can switch to the corresponding Archived User edition at the same time. If you already have archived users, their Archived User licenses automatically transition to your new Archived User subscription.

What features will I lose?

If you lose a feature because you downgrade your Google Workspace and Archived User subscriptions, you may lose data. For example, if you lose access to data loss prevention (DLP), you'll lose your DLP rules. If you lose access to Vault, you'll lose data currently retained in Vault.

Your subscription determines access to the following features:

Business Starter Business Standard Business Plus Enterprise Standard Enterprise Plus
Fundamental data regions
Vault
DLP for Drive
Enterprise data regions

Switch your Archived User subscription

Because your Archived User subscription is tied to its corresponding Google Workspace subscription, you only need to switch your existing Archived User subscription when you switch to a new Google Workspace subscription. To prevent a mismatch, your Archived User subscription will automatically switch together with your Google Workspace subscription.

  1. Follow the instructions to Switch your Google Workspace edition.
  2. After you select the payment plan, you'll get a page showing the new Archived User subscription information.
  3. Click Checkoutand thenPlace Order.
