Manage sites in Ad Manager

You can build a list of your sites to use in Google Ad Manager.

This article explains how to add and manage sites in Ad Manager, with additional guidance for MCM publishers.

Note that user impersonation will not work on the "Sites" page under "Inventory" in Ad Manager.

For Multiple Customer Management (MCM) parent publishers

  • Follow the steps below to add sites you own. To add child sites, visit Add child sites. Be sure your sites comply with the Ad Manager Partner Guidelines.
  • MCM parents need to add child sites before they can serve. However, there’s no need to add owned and operated (O&O) sites beforehand.
  • MCM Manage Account (MA) children who have obtained Ad Exchange through the self-service flow need to add sites before they can serve.

Add new sites

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Inventory, and then Sites.
  3. Click New site and enter the site URL, such as example.com.
  4. Click Save.

Once a site has been added, you can add subsites.

Add a Google Publisher Tag to your site

Create a GPT and place the tag anywhere on the page of the site you are adding. The tag can be 1×1 pixel, but it needs to be placed on the live site, not on a test page. The GPT tag must be called immediately upon page load, without requiring additional events to trigger the call.

AdSense approval status

Sites that have been approved by AdSense will have a "Yes" in the "AdSense approval" column. If your site has been submitted but not approved, it can still be used in Privacy & messaging.

Privacy & messaging

Site management can be used to create messages with Privacy & messaging.

Sites that have been added to Ad Manager will be available for user-message targeting on the Privacy & messaging page.

Move sites to a child publisher

This feature is available for MCM. For instructions, go to Add child sites to Ad Manager.

Delete sites

When you delete a site, all related subsites will also be deleted.

  1. Click Inventory, and then Sites.
  2. (MCM only) Click Sites you own or Child sites.
  3. Under "Actions," click the trash can icon Delete to delete your site.
  4. Click Continue to confirm.

You can also delete a site from your list of the site’s detail page. Click the site URL followed by Delete site.

Delete a subsite

You can delete an individual subsite without deleting the site from the site’s detail page. Click the URL for the parent site of your subsite. Find the subsite you want to delete, then click the trash can icon Delete.
