Open Auction: Line item In this context, the line item refers to inventory you’ve made available to buyers on the open auction by allowing Ad Exchange or AdSense line item types to serve to those buyers specifically. Open Auction: Inventory unit Inventory you’ve made available to buyers of AdSense at the ad unit level. Use this setting when you only want smaller portions of your ad units available to AdSense. Refer to Option 2 in this article for more information. |
Open Auction: Network level Inventory you’ve made available to AdSense buyers at the network level. Use this setting when you want all or most of your ad units to be available for AdSense backfill. Refer to Option 1 in this article for more information. |

Programmatic Guaranteed Inventory you’ve reserved (or guaranteed) for a specific buyer based on your negotiations while setting up the campaign. |
Preferred Deals Inventory you’ve given a particular buyer priority (or preferred) access to bid on at a pre-negotiated price. This inventory is not reserved or guaranteed, because you and the buyer have the option of completing the deal but are not obligated to do so.
