Block ads by user-based data

This block is for remarketing ads. It no longer includes interest-based ads. To allow Google demand sources to collect data on interest-based ads, please use the new “Allow data collection and interest-based ads” control instead. 

You can block Google demand sources, including the Google Display Network (GDN) and Display & Video 360, from serving remarketing ads. This setting applies across all of your inventory and targeting at the product (web property) level.

What transactions does this block apply to?

This block applies to the following transaction types:

  • Programmatic Guaranteed
  • Preferred Deals
  • Open Auctions
  • Private Auctions
  • First Look

Block remarketing ads

When you block remarketing ads, you block Google demand sources, including Google Display Network (GDN) and Display & Video 360, from serving remarketed ads.

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Protections and then Network level.
  3. Click the medium on which you want to control the display of ads, such as Mobile app.
  4. To block remarketing ads, next to “Remarketing ads,” turn off the switch off disable.
  5. Click Save.
