AdMob rewarded ad units allow you to reward users with in-app items for interacting with video ads, playable ads, and surveys.
How do AdMob rewarded ads work?
Rewarded ads are served after a user explicitly chooses to view a rewarded ad. This puts the user in control of their in-app experience.
Rewarded ads are shown to users in exchange for a reward, such as an extra life or in-app currency.
You can specify the reward values associated with the ad units in your app and set different rewards for different ad units. Users will receive the reward for interacting with the ad without needing to install anything.
AdMob rewarded ad format & features
AdMob rewarded ads are full screen video ads, image ads, or interactive ads, such as playable ads or surveys.
The user is shown a close button with a countdown timer that shows the number of seconds remaining before the user receives the reward. The actual duration of the countdown can be any duration between 5 and 30 seconds depending on the creative.
Note that the volume control is based on the device volume (not app-specific volume controls). If your app has its own volume controls (such as custom music or sound effect volumes), you can allow ads to respect app volume settings. Mute icons are also supported. Learn more for Android or iOS.
You can use ad pods for rewarded video ads. Ad pods serve 2 back-to-back videos during a single impression. Ad pods are included by default, but you can turn them off by unchecking the Ad pods box in the Advanced settings of your rewarded ad unit. Excluding this ad type may impact ad revenue.
Interactive ads are included by default, but you can optionally exclude them in the Advanced settings of your rewarded ad unit in AdMob.
