To set up Auto ads, you need to choose your ad settings and copy and paste the AdSense code across all the pages of your site.
Before you start
Make sure your site is listed on your Ads page. If not, you'll need to add the site to your sites list before you set up Auto ads.
How to set up Auto ads
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- Click Ads.
- In the table of all your sites, click Edit next to your site. Your site opens in the ad settings preview.
Tip: You can use the preview to try out different ad settings before your Auto ads go live.
- Under "Ad settings", turn on Auto ads.
- (Optional) Click Intent-driven formats to turn on ad intents.
- (Optional) Click Overlay formats to turn off specific overlay formats.
- (Optional) Click In-page formats to:
- Turn off specific in-page formats.
- Choose the ad load for your in-page ads
- Turn off the Existing ads option if you don't want Google to optimize your existing ad units.
- (Optional) Click Excluded areas to exclude areas on your pages from showing in-page Auto ads.
- (Optional) Click Page exclusions to exclude specific pages from showing Auto ads.
Note: If you plan to run an experiment, you can't run experiments on the following:
- Ad intents
- Related search
- Page exclusions
- Click Apply to site
- Choose your save option:
- Click Apply now Save, to immediately apply your Auto ads settings to your site.
Or
- Click Run experiment first Run experiment, to test your Auto ads settings.
AdSense will run an experiment on 50% of your site's traffic for 90 days. The experiment will finish when we've collected enough data. Learn more about Auto ads experiments.

Tracking the performance of Auto ads
You can track the performance of the Auto ads on your site by visiting the Ads Overview page and clicking View report next to your site.
