[GA4] Find the channels that drive new users to your site

Use the following guide to build an exploration that shows what channels are driving new users to your website.

Find the channels that drive new users to your site

For subtitles in your language, turn on YouTube captions. Select the settings icon Image of YouTube settings icon at the bottom of the video player, then select "Subtitles/CC" and choose your language.


  1. Go to Explore and choose a Blank exploration template.
  2. Click + next to DIMENSIONS, choose First user source / medium, First user source platform, and First user campaign, then click Import.
  3. Click + next to METRICS, choose Active users and click Import.
  4. Drag First user source / medium and First user campaign into the ROWS area.
  5. Drag First user source platform into the COLUMNS area.
  6. Drag Active users into the VALUES area.
  7. Sort the exploration by your desired metric.
