FAQs
Can I use this if I already have a CMP?
If you already use one of Google’s partner CMPs or CMSs, you can use the integrated CMP setup feature to find instructions on how to implement your banner and enable consent mode with that CMP. If you use a non-partner CMP you can also find instructions on how to implement consent mode via a manual implementation. Can I use this if I do not already have a CMP?
Yes. You can sign sign up for one of the supported integrated CMP partners from your account:
If you use Google Tag Manager, you can implement the banner on your site without editing any code. If you don’t use Tag Manager, the code required to manually implement on a website will also be provided.
I have an existing CMP or CMS (Content Management System) partner. I entered their website's URL into the field at the start of the setup process, but the CMP/CMS wasn't recognized. What steps should I take?
This can sometimes happen, but you should still proceed to use the integrated CMP setup by selecting your CMP from the list under “I have a CMP”, and following those instructions.
Consent setting override FAQ
I already implement the default command via a Google Tag Manager template, code on page, or via my CMP. Should I use this setting?
If you have confirmed that your default consent settings are working as expected using Tag Assistant, you do not need to use this control. If you do use this control, your existing default settings will be ignored and consent will only be denied for events sent from the tag where you configure defaults your account.
