How Google Play services for account management handles your data

Google Play services for account management may collect and share certain information and use certain permissions to support account management related functionality on your device, like the examples described above.

Permissions Use

Google Play services for account management may use device permissions like: 

  • Contacts may be used to sync your contacts with your Google Account and make it available to other Google apps and services. 
  • Location may be used to help you sign in to your device and enable other features to keep your account secure.
  • Files and media may be used to preview and select pictures for your Google Account.
  • Phone and SMS may be used to verify your phone number associated with your Google Account and allow verification for apps and services when signed in through your Google Account.
Additional data collection

Google Play services for account management may also collect and store the following data to support account management related functionality:

  • Personal information such as full name, email address, phone number, location, photo, and other information may be collected and used to provide Google Account functionality.
  • Device and account identifiers such as Android Device ID, IP address, and Google Account ID are also used to enable some of the functionality described above.
