To make it easier to generate a basic report, use the system queries option. With a single click, you can run common reports to access most of your data. When you use a pre-defined report, you also have the option to fully customize the report template to meet your needs. You can make your queries as simple or complex as you want.
This list page provides quick access to some basic system query tasks and displays vital system query information in the form of sortable columns:
- Name: Name and description of the system query
You can see further query setting details by placing your cursor over the query name.
- Creation date: Date of system query creation and time stamp
- Last run: Date and time stamp of the last successful query run
- RUN NOW link: Immediately run the query
From the system queries list page, you can perform the following tasks:
- From the left sidebar, click System queries.
- Locate the query name.
- To run the system query, click RUN NOW.
(Optional) If you decide to make an adjustment to the report, be aware that you can ONLY edit the date range.
- From the left sidebar, click System queries.
- Click the query name.
- Click to edit the date range.
- Select Predefined dates or Custom dates and choose your dates.
- Click Apply.
- (Optional) From the "Run report" drop-down, you can preview the report layout before you run the report.
- Click Run report.
To customize a system query with your requisites, from the system queries list page:
- Select the system query you want to adjust. You can only select to copy one query at a time.
- Click Copy to My queries.
- Update your dimensions and metrics.
Dimensions and metrics for system queries cannot be edited or deleted.
- To complete the process, you have four drop-down options:
- Run your report (you can return to save or apply additional edits to the query at a later time)
- Save query and run report
- Save query (no report is generated)
- Preview report layout
The copied query is listed in the “My queries” section. The date displayed in the copied query is the date it was copied.
Set a default query based on a system query
You can set a default query based on a system query. Select any of the system queries and click Copy to My queries. Edit the query, if needed, and save. Select the query from "My queries" and click Set as default query. This automatically sets the query to run each time the Query Tool is accessed.
