Important: To use email verification for appointment schedules, you need to have an eligible Google Workspace subscription. Learn more about premium features for appointment schedules.
To prevent unwanted appointments, you can ask guests to verify their email address before they schedule an appointment in Google Calendar. This is only required for users who aren't signed in to a Google Account.
Turn email verification on or off
Important: By default, email verification is off.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- Create or edit an appointment schedule.
- Under “Booking form,” check or uncheck the “Require email verification” box.
- Click Save.
Verify your email to book an appointment
Important: If you don't sign in to a Google Account and make an appointment with someone who uses email verification, you need to provide a PIN.
- Fill out the booking form with your email address.
- Check your email for a PIN.
- On the booking page, enter the PIN.
- Click Submit.
Tip: When you sign in to a Google Account and make an appointment:
- Your booking details are pre-filled.
- You aren't asked to submit a PIN.
