Data processor mode is currently only available for users on managed ChromeOS devices in these countries.
Data processor mode for ChromeOS offers new Chrome Enterprise Upgrade or Chrome Education Upgrade (each known as CEU) customers a switch to turn off all Optional Services for their entire organization in the Google Admin console.
New CEU customers will be provided with a switch to turn off all Optional Services before they first use data processor mode. Existing CEU customers migrating to data processor mode will retain their latest settings to avoid disruption, and can choose to leave on or turn off Optional Services individually in the Admin console.
Permissions to access this feature
The switch can be run by administrators with super admin privileges or Chrome management privileges. If you have these privileges, are using data processor mode for the first time, and do not see the option to disable all Optional Services, please make sure you have accepted the data processor mode Terms of Service and talk to your customer support engineer.
Things to know about the switch
Disabling Optional Services works best when used in a fresh environment without custom configurations. Because disabling Optional Services may also delete custom configurations, customers with access to the switch should consider the potential security and performance risks associated with deletion of these configurations prior to using the switch.
The switch to turn off Optional Services is not available to existing CEU customers who move over to data processor mode, in order to minimize disruption to their existing settings. However, existing customers can still turn on or off Optional Services individually in the Admin console.
