This is a generative AI tool that generates explanations and potential fixes on-demand for various Chrome DevTools topics (JavaScript error messages, CSS styling issues, resources included in the page, network requests, performance characteristics).
To use this feature, users need to:
- Turn on individual GenAI features in the Chrome DevTools settings:
SettingsAll innovations- The feature might be automatically turned on if they are using a consumer Google account
- Be at least 18 years of age
- English locale
- Sign in to Chrome with a Google Account
Configure generative AI settings in your Admin console
Before you begin: To configure settings for a specific group of user accounts or enrolled Chrome browsers, put the users or browsers in an organizational unit or group.

Sign in to your Google Admin console.
Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

In the Admin console, go to Menu DevicesChromeSettings. The User & browser settings page opens by default.
If you signed up for Chrome Enterprise Core, go to Menu Chrome browserSettings.

(Optional) To apply the setting only to some users and enrolled browsers, at the side, select an organizational unit (often used for departments) or configuration group (advanced). Show me how

- Scroll to Generative AI.
- Click the setting you want to configure. Learn about each generative AI setting.

Click Save. Or, you might click Override for an organizational unit.
To later restore the inherited value, click Inherit (or Unset for a group).
Settings typically take effect in minutes, but can take up to 24 hours to apply for everyone.
Admin console—Default values
