Cast from Chrome: CPU and GPU

To know your exact CPU and GPU is helpful when you assess whether or not your computer meets minimum system requirements for Cast, or when you submit feedback about your Cast experience. To verify your GPU, visit chrome://gpu.

You can also verify your CPU and GPU by following the steps below:

Windows (7, 8, 8.1 and 10)

Open the system information page based on the specific version of Windows you run:

  • Windows 7: Navigate to Start and then Computer and then System Properties.
  • Windows 8, 8.1 and 10: Navigate to Control Panel and then System and Security and then System. You can open the control panel when you press the Windows Key + X on the desktop, and choose Control Panel.
  • Windows 10:
    • For CPU info: in the search bar on the task bar, type "system," then select the System - Control Panel app.
    • For GPU info: from the System - Control Panel app, select Device Manager. The GPU information is listed under "Display adapters."
  • Processor (CPU) information is shown in the line underneath the main system rating.
  • GPU information can be obtained by clicking on Windows Experience Index, then View and print, and looking at the line labelled "Graphics."
Mac OS X
  • Navigate from the Apple logo in the menu bar to About this Mac and then More Info.
  • The Processor and Graphics lines respectively indicate your CPU and GPU.
Chrome OS
  • The Minimum system requirements article lists the Chrome OS devices that are supported. CPU or GPU information for Chrome OS devices is not required.
