Multicultural publisher attribute coming soon to Marketplace
As part of Google’s commitment to support Black and Latino-owned publishers, we’re introducing new ways to discover and support a more diverse set of publishers in Marketplace. First, we’re introducing auction packages with a clear indicator that they feature inventory from multicultural publishers. Second, we’re using the same indicator to make it easier to discover properties in Marketplace owned by members of multicultural communities so you can support these publishers with your campaigns.
Similar audience settings to be replaced with line-item level targeting expansion settings
The Similar audience setting slider that allows you to control how your audiences are expanded will be replaced with a new Targeting expansion setting. The targeting expansion setting will allow you to expand your reach on traffic with and without third-party cookies. The new setting will appear in line item details instead of in individual audience targeting options.
Existing line items will be migrated so that the targeting expansion setting matches the current similar audience settings. New, eligible line items will automatically have targeting expansion turned on. You can adjust the targeting expansion settings for a line item at any time.
Inventory source - quality targeting for authorized sellers extending to mobile app inventory
Starting November 2, Inventory source - quality targeting for authorized sellers will also extend to mobile app inventory via app-ads.txt
(this previously only applied to web inventory via ads.txt
). As a reminder, app-ads.txt
lets publishers declare sellers for their mobile app and lets advertisers know which sources are authorized to sell the inventory. This helps prevent inventory from being spoofed by bad actors and ensures that advertiser spend reaches the intended audience, bringing increased transparency to the programmatic buying space. Learn more about how you can prepare for this change.
Connected TV apps coming soon to Apps & URL targeting
Connected TV apps will soon be available in Apps & URL targeting for insertion orders and line items. Supported stores will initially include Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, PlayStation, Roku, Samsung, and Xbox.
Apps & URL targeting currently only includes mobile apps for iOS and Android. To target connected TV apps, you’d need to create a channel list with connected TV-specific app IDs. With this update, you’ll be able to target connected TV apps using the same workflow as mobile apps.
New tool coming soon to help QA experiments
You’ll soon see a new Diff tab in your experiment overview that you can use to QA your experiment and reduce issues due to incorrect setup or bias. From the new tab, you’ll see the difference between the arms of your experiment. This can help you check which variables are different and whether they align with user intent.
