Add page breaks & move margins

You can add breaks between sections of your document to organize your content.

Important: These features aren't available in documents that are in pageless format. To use these features, make sure your document is in pages format

Add or remove a page break

  1. Open a file in the Google Docs app.
  2. Tap Edit Edit.
  3. Tap Insert Plus.
  4. Tap Page break. A page break will be added to your document.

To remove a page break, tap below the page break, then delete the break.

Add a page break before a paragraph

To insert a page break before a paragraph:

  1. Open a file in the Google Docs app.
  2. Tap Edit Edit.
  3. At the top right, tap More More and then turn on Print layout.
  4. Double-tap the paragraph in your document.
  5. Tap Format and thentap Paragraph.
  6. Turn on Add page break before.

Tip: To have a heading stay at the top of a new page, you can select it and use Add page break before.
