You can update your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) within your GFiber account.
This feature is available if you're using a Wi-Fi 6 Router, Multi-Gig Router, Wi-Fi 6E Router, or Network Box. If you have a Google Wifi or Nest Wifi Pro router, you can use the Google Home app to manage your network.
To change your Wi-Fi network name:
-
Sign into your GFiber account using your email and password.
-
Select Network in the upper-left corner. If you don’t see it, click the navigation menu.
-
Select Edit network.
-
Your Wi-Fi network information is displayed.
-
Change the Network name (SSID) to the one you want. The SSID is case-sensitive and must be 1 to 32 characters long.
-
If you want, you can create a separate network name for your 5 Ghz network. Learn more.
-
Click Save. The settings take effect immediately.
If the device you're using is connected wirelessly to your GFiber network, you must reconnect using the new network name.
