Fit isn't tracking activities correctly

Walking, running, and biking detection isn’t perfect on Fit because your device’s sensors may record information differently than others.

You can try to fix problems with how Fit tracks an activity.

Change Fit’s permissions

Google Fit uses data from your phone to estimate your activity. To get more accurate estimates, turn on location and activity tracking.

Note: Learn how to change Google Fit’s permissions

You notice an activity you didn't perform

You notice different data on your watch and phone

If the activity numbers are different on your watch and phone, move the devices closer together so they can sync.

You can't find your past activities

You might have to wait several hours before your stats show up on all your devices when you first connect or if you reconnect.

Get a more accurate calorie count

If you didn't enter your height and weight in Fit, calories are based on default measurements. For a better estimate of the calories you burn, update your info.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  2. At the bottom, tap Profile.
  3. Tap your height or weight measurement to change it.
  4. Tap Done.
