- From the You tab in the Fitbit app, under Community, tap Friends.
- Choose a method to find friends, then tap the Add Friend icon next to the name or email address of the person you want to add.

- In the Fitbit app, tap the Inbox icon in the top right.
- Tap Messages.
- Tap the friend request to open it.
- Tap Accept or Ignore.
When you first created your Fitbit account, your personal information is set to private by default:
- Birthday (if you sign in with your Fitbit login)
- Sex, height, and weight
- Location
- Friends
- Badges
- Lifetime steps, distance, and floors
When you add a friend or join a group on Fitbit, your average daily step count, display name, and profile photo are visible to your friend and other group members. Your About Me information and the date you joined Fitbit is visible to your friends.
Control who sees your personal information in your privacy settings.
If you sign in with your Google Account
- From the Today tab , tap your profile picture.
- Tap Fitbit settings Social & Sharing Privacy.
- Tap each item to review and adjust your privacy settings.
- Tap Save.
If you sign in with your Fitbit login
- From the Today tab , tap the settings icon .
- Tap Social & Sharing Privacy.
- Tap each item to review and adjust your privacy settings.
- Tap Save.
- On the Fitbit settings page, click Privacy under the Settings menu.
- For each item, review and adjust your privacy settings.
Add friends to compare your 7-day step totals.
From the You tab in the Fitbit app, tap Friends. Your friends are listed in order, based on their 7-day step total.
Tap a friend to see information they choose to share, such as step average, top badges, and their friends list. Keep in mind that the information visible to you depends on that friend’s privacy settings. If you moved Fitbit to your Google Account, information for some friends might be unavailable until they also move Fitbit to a Google Account.
- From the You tab in the Fitbit app, under Community, tap Friends.
- Tap the friend you want to delete or block.
- On their profile, tap Menu .
- To remove the friend, tap Remove Friend.
- To block a friend, tap Block User.
- From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture.
- Tap Fitbit settings Social & Sharing Blocked Users.
- Find the person you want to unblock Unblock and confirm.
- Confirm you want to send a friend request.

- Tap Social & Sharing Blocked Users
- Find the person you want to unblock Unblock and confirm.
- Confirm you want to send a friend request.
