Use Gems in Gemini Apps

Gemini Advanced. 

• To use Gems with a personal Google Account, learn how to upgrade to Gemini Advanced.
• To use Gems with a work or school Google Account, your Google Workspace administrator must enable access to Gemini Advanced.  Learn more about using Gemini with a work or school account.
• Gems are available in more than 30 languages. This feature’s availability in any specific Gemini app is also limited to the supported languages and countries of that app.

Important:

• You can only create, edit, or delete custom Gems in the Gemini web app. You can use Gems in the Gemini web and mobile apps.
• For now, you can’t generate images when using a Gem. 
• For now, Gems can’t be used with Gemini Live.
• The Learning coach premade Gem doesn’t currently support language learning. 

1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to gemini.google.com.
2. At the bottom left, tap Gem manager .
3. Tap New Gem.
4. Enter a name for your Gem. 
5. Optional: Enter instructions for your Gem. 
   • Tips: 
     • Adding instructions is highly recommended.
     • After a few words, you can click Use Gemini to re-write instructions to have Gemini Apps create more comprehensive instructions for most topics. It may take a few seconds for the generated instructions to appear. For now, this feature is not available in Arabic, Dutch, or French.
6. Optional: In the text box on the right, enter a prompt to preview the Gem. 
7. Tap Create.

2. At the top, tap Menu .
3. Under Gems, select the Gem you want to use. 
4. In the text box at the bottom, enter your question or prompt.
5. Tap Submit .

2. At the top, tap Gemini .
3. Next to Chats & Gems, tap More . 
4. Under Gems, tap the Gem you want to use. 
5. In the text box at the bottom, enter your question or prompt.
6. Tap Submit .

1. Go to gemini.google.com.
2. At the top, tap Menu .
3. Under Gems, find the Gem you want to pin or unpin. 
4. Next to the Gem, tap More .
   • To pin the Gem, tap Pin .
   • To unpin the Gem, tap Unpin .

 

1. On your iPhone, open the Google app .
2. At the top, tap Gemini .
3. Next to Chats & Gems, tap More . 
4. Under Gems, find the Gem you want to pin or unpin.
5. Next to the Gem, tap More .
   • To pin the Gem, tap Pin .
   • To unpin the Gem, tap Unpin .

1. Go to gemini.google.com.
2. At the top, tap Menu .
3. Under Gems, find the Gem that you want to edit.
4. Tap More   Edit .
5. Make edits. 
6. Tap Update.

1. Go to gemini.google.com.
2. At the top, tap Menu .
3. Under Gems, find the Gem that you want to delete.
4. Tap More   Delete .

Gemini Apps may remove Gems when our systems detect a possible violation of Google's Terms of Service, including the Prohibited Use Policy.
