Before you begin
You can integrate your Google Analytics account with MonsterInsights (WordPress) for free. If you’d like to set up additional features, an annual MonsterInsights (WordPress) subscription (from $99 USD to $400 USD) will provide the following benefits:

The instructions for setting up the Google tag are different for different tag IDs, so you’ll need to follow the instructions that correspond with your tag.
If you have a tag starting with "AW-"
Tags that start with “AW-” are generally associated with Google Ads accounts.
To configure MonsterInsights with an AW- tag, MonsterInsights must first be configured with Google Analytics.
- To install MonsterInsights, log in to your WordPress dashboard, then click Plugins.
- Search for 'MonsterInsights' and click Install Now.
- Once the plugin is downloaded and installed, go to the list of installed plugins. Under “Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights”, click Activate.
- Click Launch the Wizard from the landing page.
- Complete the setup wizard.
- When the setup wizard is complete, under 'Insights', click Settings, then click Publisher.
- Navigate to the 'Ads Tracking' section and paste your Google tag ID (for example, AW-123456789).
- Click Save Changes at the top of the page.
If you have a tag starting with "ignored"
Tags that start with “ignored” are generally associated with Google Analytics accounts.
- If MonsterInsights is not currently installed, follow the instructions below.
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard, then click "Plugins".
- Search for “MonsterInsights”. Click Install Now.
- Once the plugin is downloaded and installed, go to the list of installed plugins. Under “Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights”, click Activate.
- Click Launch the Wizard from the landing page.
- Complete the setup wizard.
