Google TV is a smart TV experience that’s built into TVs and streaming devices from top brands. Google TV makes it easy to watch movies, shows, and live TV from across 10,000 apps and includes popular features like Google Assistant, smart home control, built-in free channels, and personalized entertainment recommendations for viewers.

The Google TV network offers advertisers a way to extend YouTube video campaigns, to in-stream video inventory across more than 125 channels built into Google TV, including live sports, full-length TV shows, and movies.

Note: The Google TV network is currently available exclusively for campaigns running in the United States. Google TV will be automatically applied to in-stream reach campaigns.

Google TV, with its built-in channels, offers a platform for delivering your video ads into streaming content on Google TV smart TV’s and streaming devices in the US. This allows you to target viewers who are actively engaged in watching TV shows, movies, and other videos on the big screen, providing a more immersive and impactful advertising experience.


How ads on the Google TV network work

Your ads will be seamlessly integrated into Google TV in-stream ad inventory, reaching audiences across more than 125 channels with a diverse mix of content—from live sports like WNBA and National Women's Soccer to popular shows like Law & Order and Family Feud, even Hollywood blockbusters like La La Land and the Twilight Saga.

You have the flexibility to add audience segment targeting to your campaign's ad groups, based on your target audience's interests, habits, and preferences. Google TV network also supports location targeting within the US.

To maximize the effectiveness of your Google TV ads:

  • Google Ads automatically supports ads on Google TV for new "Efficient reach" or "Non-skippable" campaign subtypes.

Note: Copied or pasted campaigns, or campaigns duplicated using Google Ads editor will need to be manually opted-in.

Instructions

To run ads of Google TV network using your existing campaign settings, follow these steps:

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon Campaigns Icon.
  2. Click the Campaigns drop down in the section menu.
  3. Click Campaigns.
  4. From the Workspace bar, select Video campaigns from the “Campaign types” drop-down.
  5. Click on the Settings tab.
  6. Click the name of the campaign you’d like to update the network settings for.
  7. Click to expand the “Networks” section.
  8. Select the checkbox next to Google TV.
  9. Click Save.

You can also duplicate your campaign, and then enable Google TV by following these steps:

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon Campaigns Icon.
  2. Click the Campaigns drop down in the section menu.
  3. Click Campaigns.
  4. From the Workspace bar, select Video campaigns from the “Campaign types” drop-down.
  5. Check the box next to the campaign you’d like to duplicate.
  6. From the “Edit” drop-down menu, select Copy.
  7. Open the “Edit” drop-down menu again, and select Paste.
  8. Check the box next to “Pause new campaigns after pasting” to restrict your copied campaigns from running immediately.
  9. Click Paste.
  10. After you’ve duplicated the campaign, click on the Settings tab.
  11. Click the name of the campaign you’d like to update the network settings for.
  12. Click to expand the “Networks” section.
  13. Select the checkbox next to Google TV.
  14. Click Save.
