A manager account is a Google Ads account that lets you easily view and manage multiple Google Ads accounts (including other manager accounts) from a single account. This article explains where and how to create manager accounts.
Note:
- Manager accounts are designed to manage multiple accounts. You may want to begin by first reading About manager accounts.
- Manager accounts are included in your limit of 20 Google Ads accounts using the same email address. Learn how to Link accounts to your manager accounts.
Create a manager account from the manager account homepage
- Visit the Google Ads manager account homepage and click Go to Manager Accounts.
- If you’re not signed in already, sign in using the email you’d like to use to manage your new manager account.
- Give your manager account a name. This is the name that your clients will find in their client account.
- Note: URLs are no longer accepted in account names.
- Choose how you plan to use the account, either as an account to manage your own Google Ads accounts, or to manage other people’s accounts.
- Select your country and time zone. This time zone will be used for your account reporting and billing and can’t be changed. You might want to choose the time zone you work in.
- Note: Time zones cannot be changed.
- Select a permanent currency for your account.
- You might want to choose the currency in which you do business. Your client accounts will be billed in their individual chosen currencies. Keep in mind that when you’re checking performance or budget information across accounts in your manager account, you’ll have the option to view any cost-related information converted to the currency used by your manager account. - Click Explore your account to get started.
Create a manager account on the Sub-account settings page
- Sign in to your Google Ads manager account.
- Select the Manager account you want to create a Sub-Manager in.
- Note: Manager accounts have Manager written underneath the account name.
- Click the Accounts icon , then click Sub-account settings.
- Click the blue plus button , and select Create new manager account.
- Enter the new account information, including the account name, primary account use, country, timezone, and currency.
- Optional:
- Click Invite users to this account (optional) to invite users to your new manager account.
- Click the drop-down menu and set their access level to “Admin", “Standard”, or “Read only”. Learn more About user access levels for your manager account.
- Optional:
- Click Save and continue.
Create a manager account on the Performance page
- Sign in to your Google Ads manager account.
- Select the Manager account you want to create a Sub-Manager in.
- Note: Manager accounts have Manager written underneath the account name.
- Click the Accounts icon , then click Performance.
- Click the blue plus button , and select Create new manager account.
- Enter the new account information, including the account name, primary account use, country, timezone, and currency.
- Optional:
- Click Invite users to this account (optional) to invite users to your new manager account.
- Click the drop-down menu and set their access level to “Admin", “Standard”, or “Read only". Learn more About user access levels for your manager account.
- Optional:
- Click Save and continue.
Troubleshooting:
If you’re unable to create a Manager account, you can try the following:
- Verify that you are signed in with the correct Google account.
- Check your internet connection.
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
- Try using a different browser.
- Contact Google Ads support for further help.
Move accounts within the hierarchy
After you’ve successfully created your new manager account, you’ll have the option on the next page to move accounts linked in the current hierarchy. You'll also be able to link other accounts.
Use the following steps to move accounts in the current hierarchy to be directly linked to your new manager account:
- Click Select accounts.
- Select accounts to link in the account selection dialog box.
- Click Done.
Use the following steps to link other accounts directly to your new manager account:
- In the "Link other accounts (optional)" section, enter or paste your customer IDs, one per line.
- Click Done.
