This article outlines how to move a directly linked client account to another sub-manager account within your account hierarchy.
How it works
We're giving you the option to easily move accounts within your hierarchy.
Change managers for your accounts
- Sign in to your Google Ads manager account.
- Click the Accounts icon .
- Click the Sub-account settings drop down in the section menu.
- Check the box next to the accounts you want to change managers for.
- Click Edit and select Change manager from the drop-down.
- Select a new manager for the account. You can also search for the new manager at the top.
Note that accounts and manager accounts you manage with API-only access cannot be moved to a new manager account through this process. If you need to move either of these account types, contact us and we can assist you.
How changing managers affects billing
If you need to unlink an Ads account from its paying manager, you will need to choose a new paying manager account and link your Ads account to a billing setup under that manager (to ensure your ads continue to serve). You can find the paying manager name and ID for your Google Ads account by navigating to the “Billing settings” page. You can also find the paying manager name and ID for all your linked Google Ads accounts by adding the Paying manager column to the Budgets page of your manager account. Changing managers does not affect accounts using manual or automatic payments.
How changing managers affects conversion tracking
If you move a client account that was using your cross-account conversion tracking tag, but that account still falls within your account structure even after being moved, the cross-account conversion tracking tag will still work for the client account.
