A way to organize your hotels for a Hotel campaign in Google Ads and strategically bid on certain kinds of hotels. You can subdivide hotel groups by country / region / state, hotel ID, or hotel class.
If you set your campaign's bid strategy as Manual CPC or CPC%, you can set a bid at the hotel group level. Doing so allows you to bid differently for certain attributes of hotels. For example, you may choose one bid for your hotels in Florida and another bid for your hotels in California. Or you may choose different bids for your 3-star hotels versus your 5-star hotels.
The hotel group CPC bid will take precedence over an ad group bid. You can, however, refine bids for hotel groups with bid adjustments for ad groups and campaigns.
Starting out
When you create a new Hotel campaign, a hotel group for "All hotels" is created using the default maximum cost-per-click bid (max. CPC) bid you set during ad group creation. The hotels included in the "All hotels" group are all the hotels listed in the linked Hotel Center account specified at the beginning of campaign creation.
Subdividing hotel groups
You can run your Hotel campaign using just the "All hotels" hotel group, or subdivide it into as many hotel groups as you want using attributes like country/region/state, hotel ID, class, or custom labels. You can also remove hotel groups as needed. Learn more about Hotel group subdivisions
