Google Ads Editor checks for updates on startup and periodically while it’s running, so you don’t need to manually download anything to upgrade.
If an update is available that doesn’t require you to re-download your account data, it may be installed silently, or you may be prompted if the update is detected while Google Ads Editor is running. An update that requires you to re-download account data will always prompt that a new version is available. The prompt will ask if you want to switch to the new version, and tell you if you don’t need to download your account info again.
If re-download is required, installing the update won't remove unposted changes. If you have changes in the current version, you’ll be prompted once per account to import changes after downloading the account in the new version.
