Change settings through the app
- Open your Google News app .
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial News settings .
- Tap the setting you want to change.
Change story display settings
You can change your settings to find more headlines at once and make story thumbnails smaller.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open your Google News app .
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial News settings .
- Turn on Mini cards.
Available general settings
Depending on your device and app version, you can set your:
- Daily briefing emails: Get your personalized daily briefing in your inbox.
- Product updates emails: Stay connected with the latest updates and features related to your Google News.
- Languages and regions of interest: Pick up to 2 languages and places of interest.
- Dark theme: Use dark colors in place of light colors. Turn on or off in device settings. Learn how to use a dark color scheme.
- Mini cards: List stories with smaller images and words.
- Sources and topics to get less of: If you’ve chosen not to get a publication, you can choose to get it again.
- Data Saver mode: Pick when to save mobile data.
- Temperature units: Pick Fahrenheit, Celsius, or Kelvin.
