How to Connect Your Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 to Your Phone

Note: If you received a replacement or purchased a single part replacement, the pairing process remains the same whether you received a replacement device or purchased a single part.

Fast pair your Google Pixel Buds

Step 1: Connect your Pixel Buds

  1. Ensure that the earbuds and charging case are charged.
  2. Open the Google Pixel Buds wireless charging case and keep it next to your device.
  3. Make sure that your device is unlocked and both Bluetooth® and Location are on.
  4. Press and hold the pairing button on the back of the case until the status light starts pulsing white.
  5. Pair Pixel Buds with your device.
    1. Google Pixel or Android 6.0 or newer: Tap the Google Pixel Buds pairing notification and follow the on-screen steps.
    2. Other devices: Select Google Pixel Buds from the list of new available Bluetooth devices.

Step 2: Fit your Pixel Buds

  1. Make sure the eartip is firmly attached to the earbud and doesn't easily pull away.
  2. Gently insert your earbuds. Left (L) and Right (R) indicators are on the earbuds. The earbud should tuck into the ear and you should slightly rotate it until it fits comfortably without any pressure.
  3. Pixel Buds come pre-attached with medium eartips. We recommend to try 2 different sizes for each ear before you decide on the final one. Ears are so unique that your left ear is likely different from your right ear.
  4. For Pixel Buds Pro and Pro 2: You can also run Eartip Seal Check to ensure that you have the best seal.

Step 3: Learn gestures & controls

Google Pixel Buds allow you to control your media, manage your calls, or use your Assistant while on the go with just a few simple gestures.

  • Tap to answer calls, play/pause media
  • Double tap to skip track
  • Triple tap to go to previous track
  • Swipe forward to increase volume
  • Swipe backward to decrease volume
  • Touch and hold to speak to your Google Assistant (requires Assistant set up)
