Reset your Google Pixel Buds

Note: Resetting the Pixel Buds and case will reset all their settings, including the name of the device and preferences for enabling and disabling features. For Pixel Buds Pro 2, this includes the ability to locate them through Find My Device.

  1. Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings and forget Google Pixel Buds.
  2. Plug the charging case into a power source using a USB-C® cable.
  3. Ensure the Pixel Buds are seated within the charging case and leave the charging case open.
  4. Press and hold the pairing button on the back of the case for 30 seconds.
  5. When the earbuds status light (for Google Pixel Buds, this is the light inside the opened case) stops bouncing, let go of the pairing button.
  6. The earbuds status light will blink white and orange until the reset is complete, and then start bouncing white. Your Google Pixel Buds will be reset and should be ready to pair immediately.

You will need to forget and re-pair any other devices Pixel Buds were paired with.

You can reset your Google Pixel Buds to fix certain issues, like if they're not connecting to your device or the sound quality is poor. 

Note: Pixel Buds Pro 2 acquired from a previous owner or a reseller need to be reset to transfer ownership of the Pixel Buds to you. This is necessary for the Find My Device network to find or track your Pixel Buds Pro 2.

Reset your Pixel Buds

  6. The earbuds status light will blink white and orange until the reset is complete, and then start bouncing white. The Google Pixel Buds will be reset and should be ready to pair immediately.
  7. You will need to forget and re-pair any other devices Pixel Buds were paired with.

After you reset your Pixel buds, you can add it on Find My Device by following the instructions in Add headphones or other accessories.
