You can use Play Console to manage featured products, which directly highlights specific in-app products (IAPs) on Google Play.
Understanding featured products terminology
To manage featured products effectively, it's important to understand some featured product-specific terminology, where they surface to users on Google Play, and the user's discovery experience
Terminology:
-
Featured product cluster: This cluster comprises the IAP icon, an IAP description, and the price or offer.
- Promotional content assets: This cluster includes an additional image, a tagline, and the price or offer. These cards maintain consistency with existing promotional content events.
Where featured products surface on Play:
After creating a featured product, it will be displayed on the app details page. If you submit multiple featured products, they will be displayed in a cluster on your app details page (featured product cluster).
If you added additional assets to your featured product (promotional content assets), this will make it eligible to be shown on additional surfaces across Google Play such as the Apps or Games tabs. You can click on the section below to expand it and view some different examples of how these different formats appear to users:

User experience with featured products and promotional content
When you incorporate promotional content assets alongside featured products, Google Play optimizes the presentation of featured products based on whether a user has your app installed or not. This is done to prioritize app discovery for new users while offering in-app purchase opportunities to existing users:
- Uninstalled users:
- Games Home or Apps Home: If users haven't installed your app, they'll see an Install button on the promotional content assets, prioritizing app discovery.
- App details page: The promotional content assets will appear in the Events & Offers section.
- Installed Users:
- Games Home or Apps Home: Users who have your app installed will see a Buy button on the featured product cluster, enabling direct purchase of the IAP.
- App details page: The featured product cluster will be prominently showcased.
To view your current and previous featured products, go to Store presence > Promotional content > Featured products. Each line represents a featured product, which is divided into two tables:
- Featured products in draft or submitted status
- Expired or past featured products
Each line item shows key information about the featured product and the assets associated with it. If you created an offer and/or provided additional assets, these can be shown by expanding each row where the offer or additional assets you provided are listed.
Evaluate your featured product performance
You can use the estimated sales report in Play Console to evaluate how your featured product performed. This report contains low-latency information about featured product purchases.
To track your featured product purchases, you can identify the following:
- The "insert name" column lists unique featured products by their featured product event ID. This allows you to aggregate revenue from one or more featured products. The featured product event ID is a unique identifier generated when a featured product is created.
- The "Offer ID" column allows you to identify the featured products with offers using the offer free text entered during the featured product creation.
