As a business owner, it is important that you keep your account safe from any fraudulent activity. Follow our best practices to make sure that your account is protected.
Here are a few ways to ensure that your account is protected.
1. Claim your listing
Verification is a critical first step to fully managing your Business Profile on Google. Verifying proves that you are authorised to manage this business on Google and ensures that your business exists and serves the specified location. You can also verify your properties in bulk if you have more than 10 listings.
2. Monitor your listing regularly
Log in to your Google Business Profile regularly. We recommend logging in to your profile at least once a week. Keep the property information, like phone numbers, address, business operating hours and website details, up to date.
3. Limit access to your account
You can add owners and managers as two distinct access types to your Google Business Profile. Owners can edit and transfer ownership of your business. Use an email alias rather than any employee's email address as the manager of your profile. This is advisable in case the employee is no longer with your hotel.
4. Respond to access requests in a timely manner
Check for any emails and alerts from Google and address them in a timely manner. Reject suspicious ownership requests within three days. Read and reply to your Google Business Profile messages regularly and promptly.
