Your device manufacturer is often the best place to get help for some tablet issues. To get help with your tablet, find your manufacturer below.

Solve account issues
Sign in to Google Kids SpaceFrom the home screen:
- Tap Google Kids Space .
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
From Settings:
- Go to Settings Digital Wellbeing & parental controls.
- Tap Google Kids Space.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Tip: If you've signed in before and you don't want to keep your previous settings, be sure to uncheck Use previous settings.
Important:
- When you turn off Google Kids Space, your child can access all features of the device, including the browser, the Play Store, and any other apps that are installed.
- Only parents can turn off Google Kids Space.
- If you turn Google Kids Space on again with your child's Google Account within 30 days, your child's settings are restored. After 30 days, your child's settings are deleted and require re-selection.
- On the child's device, open Google Kids Space .
- In the lower right corner, touch and hold the Parent menu .
- Tap Exit Kids Space Turn off.
- On the “Parent access” page, enter your password and tap Confirm.
Tips:
- If you forgot your password, you can reset it by following the instructions on the “Parent access” sign in page.
- Before you verify you’re the parent, there is information about what data is saved upon exit from Google Kids Space.
- On the child's device, open Google Kids Space .
- In the lower right corner, touch and hold the Parent menu .
- The “For Parent” menu will display.
- Choose any of the following options:
- Parent controls: Set screen time limits, block inappropriate content, and manage app permissions.
- Free up space: Delete unused apps and data, clear the cache, and manage storage settings.
- Device settings: Change the wallpaper, set the ringtone, set the brightness, and turn Location services on or off.
- Add more apps: Search for apps in the Play Store to download and install.
- Help & feedback: Get help with using Google Kids Space, report a problem, and give feedback.
- Privacy policy: Learn about how Google Kids Space collects and uses their data.
- Exit Kids Space: Turn off restrictions and restore the full Android experience.
Tips:
- Tell your child that the Parent Menu helps them stay safe and that you can answer any questions they have.
- Set realistic screen time limits.
- Be consistent with your enforcement of screen time limits.
- Use the Parent Menu to teach your child about online safety and responsible digital activity.
If you can’t switch users on your device, try to:
Remove a Google Kids Space account
- From the home screen in Google Kids Space, press and hold the Parent menu .
- Tap Settings Accounts Google.
- Tap the child's Google Account Remove account.
- If you can't find this, at the top right, tap More Remove account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the child's account.
Re-add the account
- On the child’s device, open the Settings app.
- Tap Users & accounts Add account.
- Sign in with the parent account that is used with Family Link.
If you can't sign in with your child’s account, try the steps below.
Step 1: Add your parent account
- On your child’s device, open Settings .
- Tap Users & accounts Add account.
- Sign in with the parent account you use with Family Link.
Step 2: Update Google Play services
On your child’s Android device, follow these steps to update Google Play Services.
Make sure Google Play services is updated before you move on to Step 3.
Step 3: Add your child’s account
- On your child’s device, open Settings .
- Tap Users & accounts your Parent account Remove account Add account.
- Sign in with your child’s account.
Tip: If Google Kids Space still has issues:
- Make sure your device and apps are up to date and restart the device. Learn more about these steps.
- Alternatively, you can remove and re-add the child user.
Solve content issues
I can’t find the Google Kids Space app on my new device- On your device home screen, swipe up.
- Search “Kids Space”
- Tap the app icon.
- Follow the on-screen instructions
You can flag an app or a game for inappropriate content.
- From the home screen in Google Kids Space, touch and hold the Parent menu .
- Tap Add other content Go to Google Play.
- In the Play Store, go to the detail page for the app or game.
- Tap More Flag as inappropriate.
- Select a reason.
- Tap Submit.
If your child can't download YouTube Kids or other apps on their device, clear the cache and data of the Play Store and Google Kids Space apps.
- From the home screen in Google Kids Space, touch and hold the Parent Menu .
- Tap Device settings Apps & notifications See all apps.
- Find and tap Google Play Store Storage Clear cache Clear data.
- Go back to the list of apps and find and tap Google Kids Space .
- Tap Storage Clear cache Clear data.
- Press the home button and try to install apps again.
When you try to update Google Play Books, you may encounter the message: “Parental controls restrict downloading of this item.”
You can update Google Play Books this way:
- From the home screen in Google Kids Space, press and hold the Parent menu .
- Tap Add more apps Go to Google Play Profile picture.
- Tap Manage apps & device.
- Under "Manage," tap Updates available.
- Search for “Google Play Books.”
- Tap Update.
Uninstall Play Store updates
- Make sure that you’re connected to a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
- On your device’s home or app screen, touch and hold the Google Play Store app .
- Tap App info .
- At the top, tap More Uninstall updates.
- If you’re asked to change the Play Store app back to the factory version, tap OK.
Tip: To update the Play Store:
- On your device, open Settings .
- Tap About phone or About tablet Android version.
- Tap Google Play system update Check for update.
- Steps may vary depending on your device manufacturer.
If this doesn't work, reset your Android device to its original factory settings.
- For device specific instructions, check your manufacturer's support site.
- If you want to keep your data, back up your data first before you reset your device.
- Open the Google Play Store app .
- At the top right, tap the profile icon Manage apps & devices. Apps with available updates are labeled "Updates available."
- Start the update:
- To update a single app, search and select the desired app.
- To download all available updates, tap Update all.
Solve device issues
Reload, restart, or update Play store on Google Kids SpaceTo update Google Play Services version:

On your child’s device, open Settings .
- Under "Personal," tap Google.
- At the top right, tap More Help & feedback.
- At the top right, tap More View in Google Play Store.
If memory space on your device fills up, select apps to uninstall.
- From the home screen in Google Kids Space, press and hold the Parent menu .
- Tap Free up space Go to Google Play.
- On the right, select the content you want to remove FREE UP [X] MB.
- In the notification that appears, to uninstall those apps, tap FREE UP [X] MB.
To uninstall apps through Google Play:
- From the home screen in Google Kids Space, touch and hold the Parent menu .
- Tap Free up space.
- To manage app updates within Google Play, you can also tap your account icon Manage apps & device.
To uninstall apps within Google Kids Space:
- Touch and hold on an installed app.
- Tap the More Uninstall.
To remove media:
To manage media storage, in the top right of the Google Kids Space app, tap My Stuff and launch the Files app .
Tip: Free Up Space under the parent menu.
