Change or reset your password

You can change your password for security reasons or reset it if you forget it. Your Google Account password is used to access many Google products, like Gmail and YouTube.

How do I change my Google Account password?

  1. Open your device's Settings app and tap Google and then Your name and then Manage your Google Account.
  2. At the top, tap Security.
  3. Under "How you sign in to Google," tap Password. You might need to sign in.
  4. Enter your new password, then tap Change Password.
    • Tip: When you enter your password on mobile, the first letter isn't case sensitive.
