If someone's address is in your Google Contacts, you can find their address on the map by searching for their name. If you search for an address, you can see any contacts matching that address.
Find a Google Contact
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
- Sign in to your Google Account.
- Search for a contact's name or address. Matching contacts will appear in the suggestions.
- To see your contact on the map, choose a name or address.
- To see your contact's details, tap the bottom of the screen.
Add an address to a Google contact
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
- Search for an address.
- At the bottom, tap the address.
- Tap Label.
- Enter the name of someone in your Google Contacts. To create a new contact, tap Create contact.
- Choose an option:
- Add home: Add the address as your contact's home address.
- Add work: Add the address as your contact's work address.
- Add other address: Make a new label for your contact's address, like "Vacation house."
Note: Only people stored in your Google Contacts will show up as suggestions. You won't see contact info for people who are stored on your phone or tablet.
Hide or delete a Google contact address
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .

Tap You Labeled.
- Next to your contact, tap More .
- To hide a contact from showing up on Google Maps, tap Hide contact in Maps Hide.
- To remove an address for your contact across Google, tap Remove contact address Remove.
Tip: To hide all of your Google Contacts' addresses on the map, open the Google Maps app tap your profile picture or initial Settings Personal content next to "Google Contacts," turn the switch off. The switch will turn gray when it's off.
Troubleshooting tips
If your contacts aren't showing up in your search results or when you select an address, try these tips:
- Make sure Web and App Activity is on: Web and App Activity must be turned on for Google Maps to show your contacts in search results.
- Make sure the person's name and address is in your Google Contacts: Learn how to add or edit a contact.
