You can make meetings more accessible by turning on the following accessibility features:
- Screen magnification
- Spoken feedback
- Live captions, which show the text of the conversation on the screen during video meetings. For more information, read Use captions in a Meet hardware video meeting.
The following steps show how to turn on accessibility settings on different types of Meet hardware. You can also connect a USB keyboard to your Meet hardware to turn on settings. For details, read Connect a USB keyboard for increased accessibility.
Google Meet hardware
To select a specific item, such as a button, tap the item. Double-tap to activate it.
- On the touchscreen, tap Settings .
- Select Accessibility.
- Tap On or Off to turn a feature on or off.
Chromebox
On the remote control, hold down the arrow keys to pan around the screen.
- Using the remote control arrows, select Settings .
- Select Accessibility .
- Press Up and Down arrows to highlight a feature.
- Press Select.
The feature is on when checked.
To return to the Home screen, select Menu twice. To go back to the main Settings page, select it once.
Chromebase
- On the bottom right of the screen, tap or click More Settings.
- Select Accessibility .
- Tap or click On or Off to turn a feature on or off.
