Use captions in a meeting

Currently only available in English

With Google meeting room hardware, you can make it easier to follow what’s being said in a meeting by turning on captions, which show text of the conversation.

Note: If you record a video meeting, you don't record captions. They don't appear when you play the recording.

Turn captions on or off

On Google Meet hardware

  1. On the top right of the touchscreen, tap Settings Settings.
  2. Select Accessibility.
  3. Next to Live captions, tap Turn On  or Turn off .

On Chromebox

Using the remote control, press Settings Settingsand thenTurn on captions  or Turn off captions .

On Chromebase

On the bottom right of the touchscreen, tap Turn on captions  or Turn off captions .

Tip: If your meeting controls cover the captions, tap anywhere else in the Meet window to hide the controls.
