Benefits of inferred delivery information
If your website is accessible to the Google crawler, you may occasionally find offers that appear on Google that you never uploaded to your Merchant Center account. When this happens, Google may not have the appropriate delivery information to go with your offer. Google may then infer this data based on existing information in Merchant Center that's relevant to most or all of the offers on your website. This offers the following benefits:
- Assuring that you enjoy the full benefits of selling on Google: It may be necessary for your offers to have delivery information to be eligible for listing, or you may need to provide delivery information to qualify for certain privileges.
- Assuring that your customers enjoy an optimal user experience: Customers are generally more attracted to listings that provide delivery information.
How to update or correct inferred delivery information
If you need to update your delivery information that Google has inferred, you can select one of the three options mentioned below:
- Upload your offer to Merchant Center as normal, configuring the appropriate settings.
- For any delivery settings provided to Google or provided on your landing and details pages, fix the delivery to be more accurate so that Google's inferred costs and speeds are more accurate.
- Go through Merchant listing (Product, Offer) structured data on Google Search Central and ensure that your data structure correctly incorporates delivery attributes.
