Reasons why the issue is happening
When someone clicks a local inventory ad or free local listing on Google, they expect to view the same price on your landing page as they find in the ad or listing.
- Price mismatches were found between your local inventory ads and/or free local listings data and your landing pages. You should have received an email asking you to update your data by a certain date so that the values in your data are consistent with those on your landing page. If mismatching data is detected after this date, your account will be suspended and will no longer be eligible to show your local products in ads and free listings.
Product page with in-store availability: A click must direct the user to a product landing page where they can check the omnichannel price of a product, and it must match the price from your primary data source.
Store-specific product page with in-store availability and price: A click must direct the user to a product landing page where they can check the price of a product at a specific shop and it must match the price provided via the local inventory data or the primary data source, when there is no price at the local inventory data.
In-store product page type | Data source | Pricing attribute | Notes |
Product page with in-store availability | Primary data source | Price [price] or sale price [sale_price] |
Price is provided in your primary data source. |
Store-specific product page with in-store availability and price | Primary data source | Price [price] or sale price [sale_price] |
Price can be provided in the primary data source if you have national prices. |
Store-specific product page with in-store availability and price | Local inventory data | Price [price] or sale price [sale_price] |
Price is provided in your local inventory data if it varies from shop to shop. |
How to fix the issue
Ensure that price in your local inventory ads and/or free local listings data matches the price on your landing page.
Investigate your update process to view what could be causing the problem:
- Check the warning email for examples of products that were disapproved. Look for a common problem in your product data that could cause these mismatched prices.
- Make sure that you're updating your landing page and data sources at the same time. Schedule an upload or use the Content API to immediately update your product data. This scheduling helps to make sure that Google has the same data that is displayed on your landing page.
When you've addressed the problem, update the price [price]
attributes in your data source to match your landing page.
Wait for your data to be re-crawled.
Google will crawl the products listed in your Merchant Center account. If Google detects that your in-store price now matches your landing page price, your account suspension will be lifted and you will be able to serve local inventory ads and/or free local listings again.
