How to fix: Vehicle image not valid

Use an image that matches the vehicle's description

Why this issue is happening

If the image URL for your vehicle redirects to a non-vehicle image or an image that doesn’t match the vehicle’s description, you may receive an error. Vehicle listings that contain invalid images will be disapproved. In order to list vehicles for sale on Google, you must use the image link [image_link] attribute to redirect to an image that clearly represents the vehicle being sold.

How to fix your issue

In order to resolve the issue, add an image that matches the vehicle’s description.

Fix products one by one directly in Merchant Center

Step 1Go to Products in Merchant Center, then select the Needs attention tab.

Step 2Use the filter icon above the table to find all products affected by your issue.

Step 3Click on the title of the product you want to fix, then click Edit product.

Step 4Remove any images that don’t match the vehicle’s description. Add an image that matches the description of the vehicle, and use the image link [image_link] attribute to add a valid URL.

  • Make sure each vehicle image is of a high-quality without any overlays.

Step 5Click Save.

Fix multiple products at once

Step 1Go to Products in Merchant Center, then select the Needs attention tab.

Step 2Use the filter icon above the table to find all products affected by your issue.

Step 3Select the download icon to download a list (.csv) of all affected products for all issues or this particular issue.

Step 4Check your product data for those products (using the ID), and remove any images that don’t match the vehicle’s description. Add an image that matches the description of the vehicle, and use the image link [image_link] attribute to add a valid URL.

Step 5Reupload your corrected product data to Merchant Center using your chosen upload method.
