To help you keep things running smoothly and improve your presence on Google, you’ll find notification cards in your Merchant Center account in the “Notifications" tab on the left side panel. Notifications can also be found under “What to do next” in the “Overview” tab.
Generally, notifications fall into these categories:
Critical issues: Any critical action that must be addressed to enable the account or show all products, such as set-up and policy issues. Critical issues impact core functionality and always show at the top of the page.
- Example: “Your products aren't shown to customers”
Issues: Any critical action that must be addressed to avoid the account being disabled and all products disapproved. Product issues also include key actions for data source management as well as unblocking and optimizing product visibility.
- Example: “10 high potential products have issues: Missing value
[price]
”
Growth opportunities: Suggested actions for a positive result for business performance. Growth opportunities include quantifiable impact predicted by Google, general performance advice and upsells, and updates to optimize the configuration of the account.
- Example: “Fix your limited budget”
Updates and tips: Information about changes or new features within Merchant Center, including changes to the account as a result of a user action or new available features. Make the best use of your product and its features with guidance that exposes users to previously unlocked benefits and features.
- Example: “Watch a video about how customers find your products on Google”
A notification card will disappear after you’ve taken its suggested actions. You can also dismiss a card without taking action on them by clicking the 3-dot icon in the top right corner of a card, and then selecting Dismiss. The card will disappear for 30 days.
