Instructions
Step 1 of 2: Set up a loyalty shipping policy
After adding shipping benefits in the loyalty program setup in Merchant Center, create a new shipping policy to associate shipping benefits for your loyalty members. These shipping benefits can be configured for each tier of your loyalty program.
In your Merchant Center account, navigate to the “Your business” tab and select “Shipping and returns” from the left navigation menu.
Click Add shipping policy to create a new loyalty shipping policy.
In “Add your shipping information” setup, complete the steps for "Name and Countries".
- Name the shipping policy following this format:
loyalty_program:program_label:tier_label
On the “Products” page, always select “All Products”.
- Loyalty shipping policies only apply to products that have a shipping label
[shipping_label]
sub attribute within the loyalty program[loyalty_program]
attribute. Don’t add a regular shipping label[shipping_label]
to loyalty shipping policy.
On the “Delivery times” and "Shipping costs" page, add the shipping speed and shipping cost associated with the tier.
- Provide the perk associated with each program after you create the new shipping policy. For example, you can include that members can have free shipping for orders over $10 USD.
Repeat the steps to create a new shipping policy, and add shipping benefits associated with each membership tier. You can also add a same-day delivery shipping policy benefit for your loyalty members.
Loyalty shipping policy requirement
When creating a new shipping policy, follow the naming convention: loyalty_program:program_label:tier_label
. The program label should reflect the high-level program, and the tier label should reflect the label specific to the tier. These must match what you have provided in the loyalty program set up page.
Examples
Your program_label is acme_loyalists and you have 3 tiers, tier_label = silver, gold, platinum. For each tier, create a separate shipping policy using the naming convention:
- loyalty_program:acme_loyalists:silver
- loyalty_program:acme_loyalists:gold
- loyalty_program:acme_loyalists:platinum
Step 2 of 2: Select offers eligible for the shipping benefit
Add the shipping label [shipping_label]
sub attribute within the loyalty program [loyalty_program]
attribute in the offers which are eligible for loyalty shipping benefit.
In case some offers are ineligible for the loyalty shipping benefit, don’t include the shipping_label [shipping_label]
sub attribute within the loyalty program [loyalty_program]
attribute. We rely on the shipping_label [shipping_label]
sub attribute to determine whether a product is eligible for loyalty shipping policy.
Example
Attribute Header: loyalty_program(program_label:tier_label:price:loyalty_points:member_price_effective_date:shipping_label)
- Offer A is eligible for loyalty shipping benefits.
program_label:tier_label:price:loyalty_points:member_price_effective_date:shipping_label
- Offer B isn’t eligible for loyalty shipping benefits.
program_label:tier_label:price:loyalty_points:member_price_effective_date:
Offer-level shipping [shipping]
attribute overrides any account-level shipping settings that are configured. However, the offer-level attribute doesn’t override loyalty shipping policies at the account level. It only overrides non-loyalty shipping policies at the account level.
Manage visibility of your shipping policy
You can adjust the visibility of your shipping policy by choosing "Show on Google" or "Hide on Google".
