How GPay works

With Shopify as a payment service provider (PSP), you need only to select the GPay checkbox in the “Wallets” section in your Shopify settings to integrate GPay. No additional sign-up is required.

Note: During initial Shopify store configuration, GPay is selected by default as part of Shopify Payment configuration. You can deselect the GPay checkbox to configure your preferred payment options.

Add GPay to your Shopify store

Merchants may encounter a card in the Google & Youtube channel app that directs them to set up GPay. Click Add Google Pay to be routed to the appropriate page in your Shopify account to set up GPay as the payment processor for your store.

You can also manually add GPay to your Shopify store by following these steps:

  1. In your Shopify store account, click Settings.
  2. Click Payments.
  3. In the section for your credit card payment provider, click Manage.
  4. Select Google Pay in the Wallets section.
  5. Click Save.

If you want to use any other third-party PSP, additional steps are required to activate GPay on Shopify.
