Delete browsing data in Chrome

You can delete your Chrome browsing history and other browsing data, like saved form entries, or just delete data from a specific date.

What happens to your info

Data that can be deleted

The following data related to your behavior online can be deleted from Chrome:

  • Browsing History: This includes the web addresses you’ve visited that can be found on the History page, their shortcuts from the New Tab page, and the address bar predictions for those websites.
  • Cookies, Site Data:
  • Cached Images and Files: Chrome remembers parts of pages, like text and images, to help them open faster during your next visit.
  • Saved Passwords: Records of passwords you saved.
  • Autofill Data: All your Autofill entries and records of text you've entered on web forms.
Data that doesn't get deleted

There are other types of data that are related to your behavior online. These other types of data can be deleted separately:

Tip: Before you dispose or give away your device, remember to delete your browsing data and sign out of Chrome.

Delete your Chrome browsing data

If you’ve saved a type of data to your Google Account, you can delete it from your iPhone or iPad at any time. It’ll be removed from your Google Account and won’t be available on your other devices where you’re signed in.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Delete Browsing Data.
  3. A popup window will appear where you can set a duration and select the browsing data you want to delete.
    • Next to “Time Range,” select a duration. The default time range duration is 15 minutes.
    • To select specific data you want to delete:
      1. Tap Browsing Data.
      2. Select the types of browsing data you want to delete.
      3. Tap Confirm.
  4. Tap Delete Browsing Data.

Tips:

  • To sign out of your Google Account on all websites, sign out of Chrome.
  • To quickly reach the Delete browsing data dialog, in the address bar, type “Delete browsing data” and then tap the Action chipLearn Chrome Actions to quickly complete tasks.
  • You can also delete your browsing history when you tap More More and then History and then Delete Browsing Data….
Delete individual items

Instead of deleting entire categories of your browsing data, you can pick items to delete:
