When you're done using your Pixelbook, you can sign out, put it to sleep, or turn it off.

Sign out
To let someone else use your device, or to switch accounts:
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Sign out.
You can also press the power button for 2 seconds and choose Sign out.
Put your device to sleep
To save battery power while your device is on:
- In laptop mode, close the device's lid.
- In tablet mode, press the power button.
After a while, your device will also go to sleep on its own:
- When plugged into a charger, the screen will turn off in 8 minutes. Your device will go to sleep in 30 minutes.
- When not plugged in, the screen will turn off in 6 minutes. Your device will go to sleep in 10 minutes.
Turn off your device
To turn off your device completely, try one of these options:
- At the bottom right, select the time Power .
- At the bottom right, select the time Sign out Shut down.
- Press and hold Power for 3 seconds.
- Press Power for 2 seconds and choose Power off.
Keep your screen on
To have your device's screen stay on when you aren't using it:
- At the bottom right, select the time Settings .
- Scroll to the "Device" section.
- Select Power.
- Select the Down arrow next to When idle, then choose Keep display on.
Note: While the screen remains on, your device will not go to sleep.
To keep your device from going to sleep when the lid is closed:
- At the bottom right, select the time Settings .
- Scroll to the "Device" section.
- Select Power.
- Turn off Sleep when lid is closed.
Note: If you use your device at work or school, you might not be able to change your sleep settings. Contact your administrator for more help.
Wake your device
To wake your device:
- In laptop mode, press any key or swipe up on the touchpad.
- In tablet mode, press the power button.
