If you're having problems sending or receiving the SMS verification code for Google Meet on your Pixelbook, try the following steps to finish verifying your phone number.
Step 1: Check your phone number
Check your phone number, and make sure that there aren’t any typos. If you didn’t include your country code, add it before your number.
Step 2: Check for a good Wi-Fi or mobile data connection
- Check your settings:
- Either Wi-Fi or mobile data needs to be on.
- Aeroplane mode needs to be off.
- Move somewhere with a better connection. Your Wi-Fi or mobile data icon should have at least 1 bar.
- To test your connection, open a browser, such as Chrome or Safari. Go to a website and see if it loads.
Step 3: Check that you can receive SMS texts
- Check your settings:
- Mobile signal needs to be on.
- Aeroplane mode needs to be off.
- Ask a friend to text you to make sure that your phone is working.
Step 4: Request a new verification code
- If you don't receive a text message, tap Resend SMS.
- If you have a mobile connection and aren't receiving the SMS, request a call by tapping Call me
Step 5: Try fixing the app
Quit and restart the Google Meet app on your device
- Open your Android device's settings.
- Tap Apps Meet Force stop.
- Open Meet again.
Uninstall and reinstall the app
- Uninstall Google Meet.
- Download Google Meet again.
- Open the Google Meet app.
Restart your device
- Turn off your device
- Turn it back on.
- Open the Google Meet app.
