All Pixel phones can charge with USB-C cables. For best results, use the power adapter that comes with some phones, like Pixel 5a (5G). If your phone isn't charging right, learn how to fix a phone that doesn't charge. Learn how to charge your Pixel phone.
Pixel 3, Pixel 4, Pixel 5, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel 7a can charge via Qi wireless charging. Learn how to use a Pixel Stand to wirelessly charge your Pixel phone.

Use Battery Share to wirelessly charge Qi-certified phones or accessories, like Pixel Buds by setting your accessory or other phone on the back of your Pixel phone. Battery Share is available on Pixel 5 and later devices, excluding Pixel 6a, Pixel 7a, Pixel 8a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Over time, your Pixel phone's battery may decline in performance due to usage patterns, temperature, and age. To help preserve battery life, some Pixel phones may automatically adjust their charging to manage device and battery temperatures. In some cases, this could result in slower charging speed.

Use Battery Saver & Extreme Battery Saver
To make your battery last longer, you can set Battery Saver to turn on automatically. You can also turn on Battery Saver at any time. To save even more power on your device, you can turn on Extreme Battery Saver.

"Charging temporarily limited" (Pixel 3 & later)

To protect your battery health and help extend its lifespan, your phone automatically limits charging to about 70%-80% under certain conditions, such as:

  • Continuous charging for more than a few hours under high temperatures
  • Continuous charging for more than several days

When this feature is turned on, you will receive a notification that says “Protecting your battery.” A message that says “Charging optimized to protect your battery” is also displayed in the Settings app under Battery.

Tip: This feature is automatically deactivated when the phone no longer meets the conditions listed above. You know that the feature is no longer active when the phone starts to charge to 100%.

If you wish to override the battery protection feature and enable the phone to charge to 100%, tap on the ‘Charge to full’ link in the Settings app under “Battery” or restart your Pixel phone.

Tip: The next time your phone meets the above conditions, this feature will automatically activate again.
