Copy data from your iPhone to your new Pixel. Connect the two phones with a cable or pair them wirelessly to securely move over your contacts, photos, calendars, and more.
Step 1 of 6
Set up your new Pixel
Important: A Google Account is recommended. Otherwise, you can’t download apps, and some content won’t copy to your new device.
Make sure you have the following:
- Your fully charged iPhone device with a recent version of iOS software
- The charging cable for your existing iPhone® device
- Your new, fully charged Pixel
- A strong Wi-Fi connection
- The SIM card tool that came with your Pixel, unless you have an eSIM
If you use a SIM card, before you turn on your device, use a SIM card tool to eject the tray. Then, insert the SIM card.

Prepare your iPhone
Important: If you no longer have your iPhone device or SIM card, follow the steps from Apple to deregister your phone number from iMessage.
Turn off iMessage
- While your SIM card is still in your iPhone device, go to the Settings app.
- Tap Messages.
- Turn off iMessage.
- To go back to the main settings list, at the top left, tap Settings.
- Tap FaceTime.
- Turn off Facetime.

Prepare your Pixel
When you’re ready to get started, make sure your existing iPhone and your new Pixel device are both powered on.
- On your new Pixel, tap iPhone or iPad.
- If you want to set up a phone for a child, tap Skip. Learn how to set up a child device.
- Connect to a strong Wi-Fi connection.
- Set up your SIM:
- If available, you can download an eSIM from your carrier.
- If you have a SIM card and didn’t put it in yet, insert it into the SIM card slot tray with a SIM card tool.
- To transfer your SIM card to your Pixel, follow the on-screen instructions.
- Sign in to your Google Account.
- On your Pixel, enter your Google Account password.
- Tap Next.
To set a PIN, follow the on-screen instructions. Then, set up Fingerprint Unlock and Face Unlock.

Connect your devices
Transfer data
- Tap Next.
- Unlock your existing iPhone device.
- On your Pixel, tap Next.
Find your iPhone cable
- When you find your iPhone cable, tap Next.
- Plug that cable into your iPhone.
- On your Pixel, tap Next.
Connect your devices
- Plug the other end of your iPhone cable into your Pixel with the Quick Switch Adapter, if necessary.
- Your devices are now connected. To continue, tap Next.
Tip: If you don’t have a compatible cable to connect your devices, to get a Quick Switch Adapter, reach out to Pixel Support.

Copy apps & data
Choose which data to copy from your existing iPhone device, including apps, photos, contacts, and more.
During setup, you can turn on Gemini, your built-in AI assistant on your Pixel. Tap Use Gemini. Learn what you can do with your Gemini mobile app.

Tip: You can transfer data after setup when you go to the Settings app and tap Backup or copy data. Learn how to restore your data from a backup.
