To avoid damaging your device, accessories, or any connected devices and to reduce the risk of personal injury, discomfort, property damage or other potential hazards, follow the precautions below and those found in the Nest Power Connector Safety Information at g.co/nest/nestpowerconnector.

 

HIGH VOLTAGES MAY BE PRESENT!

Be sure to turn off the power at the breaker panel or unplug your heater and/or air conditioning unit before attempting installation or disconnecting any wires. Read instructions and note caution warnings before proceeding.

 

USE CAUTION WHEN ACCESSING YOUR HEATER AND/OR AIR CONDITIONING UNIT.

Call a pro if you are not comfortable installing this product. Installation will require access to wiring, and may require the use of ladders or working in locations with little space. Use a helper if possible and avoid installing the device when home alone.

Handling

Handle your Nest Power Connector with care. You may damage the device if you disassemble, drop, bend, burn, crush or puncture your device. Do not use a Nest Power Connector with a damaged enclosure, or some other form of physical damage. Using a damaged Nest Power Connector may cause overheating or injury. Do not expose your Nest Power Connector to liquids, which can cause a short circuit and overheating.  If your Nest Power Connector gets wet, do not attempt to dry it using an external heat source.  

Nest Power Connector is designed to operate in a dry, indoor environment. Your Nest Power Connector is designed to work best in ambient temperatures between -22° and 140° F (-30° and 60° C), and should be stored between ambient temperatures of -22° and 140° F (-30° and 60° C). Do not expose your Nest Power Connector to temperatures above 140° F (60° C), as this may damage the Nest Power Connector, overheat the battery, or pose a risk of fire. Keep your Nest Power Connector away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight. If your device becomes too hot, disconnect it from its power source if it is plugged in, move it to a cooler place and do not use it until it has cooled. Your Nest Power Connector is designed to work best at an altitude of up to 6562 ft (2,000 m).

Repair & Service

Do not attempt to repair your Nest Power Connector yourself. Disassembling the device may result in loss of water resistance or cause injury or damage to your device.

Child Safety

This device is not a toy. Your Nest Power Connector may contain (or may come with) small parts, plastic, glass, or metal elements, and parts with sharp edges that may cause an injury or create a choking hazard. Children have strangled on cords and cables. Keep the Nest Power Connector’s cords and cables out of the reach of children (more than 3 feet (0.9 meters) away) and do not allow them to play with the Nest Power Connector and its accessories. They could hurt themselves or others, or could accidentally damage the Nest Power Connector.

Disposal, Transportation, & Recycling

Dispose of and transport your device according to local environmental and transportation regulations. Do not improperly transport them or dispose of them in normal household waste. Improper disposal or transport may lead to fire, explosion, and/or other hazards. Do not open, crush, heat above 113 ̊F (45 ̊C), or incinerate. Environmental Restrictions

To prevent damage to your Nest Power Connector’s parts or internal circuits, do not use or store the device or its accessories in dusty, smoky, damp, or dirty environments, or near magnetic fields.  Keep it away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight. Do not leave your Nest Power Connector inside a vehicle or in places where the temperature may exceed 113° F (45° C), such as on a car dashboard, window sill, near a heating vent, or behind glass that is exposed to direct sunlight or strong ultraviolet light for extended periods of time. This may damage the Nest Power Connector. 

Proper Handling and Usage

Follow these guidelines when using or storing your Nest Power Connector:

Operating Temperature

Do not use the Nest Power Connector at ambient temperatures lower than -30°C (-22°F) or higher than 60°C (140°F). If the interior temperature of the device exceeds normal operating temperatures, you may experience the following behaviors while the device tries to regulate its temperature: reduced performance, or device power down. You may not be able to use the device while it regulates its temperature. 

Service & Support

Unauthorized repairs or modifications could result in permanent damage to the device, and may affect your warranty coverage and regulatory authorizations. Devices should only be repaired by Google or a Google authorized service provider. Contact customer service for authorized service. For online help and support, visit g.co/nest/help

If you send your device in for service, you might receive a replacement in place of your original device. Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired.  Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
